Loong Air, a prominent Chinese airline, has inaugurated a new direct flight service connecting Chengdu Tianfu International Airport with Taichung International Airport. This development marks the airline’s inaugural venture into cross-strait flights, enhancing travel links between China and Taiwan.
The newly launched route is scheduled to operate twice a week, with flights available every Tuesday and Saturday. The introduction of this service aims to bolster travel connectivity between the southwestern region of China and central Taiwan, providing more direct access for travelers between these areas.
Taichung International Airport, with the inclusion of this new Chengdu route, now features a total of 31 operating or announced flight paths. This includes 20 regular flight services and 11 charter routes, reflecting the airport’s growing role as a regional travel hub.
Besides Chengdu, Taichung Airport also offers scheduled cross-strait flights to Nanjing and Qingdao. These destinations are part of the effort to expand travel options and strengthen the ties between Taiwan and various regions of China.
