Taiwan and Thailand are enhancing their collaboration in the realm of smart agriculture, focusing on the integration of artificial intelligence, low-carbon farming, and advanced agricultural technology. A Taiwanese delegation, comprising government officials, industry leaders, academics, and research experts, recently traveled to Bangkok, Chiang Rai, and Chiang Mai to engage with Thai counterparts and research institutions on these initiatives.
During the visit, discussions centered around the implementation of smart-farming technologies, the promotion of low-carbon agricultural practices, and the establishment of public-private partnerships to modernize agricultural production. The delegation also explored Thailand’s specific needs for smart-farming equipment and technologies, assessing potential for operational support in these areas.
The Taiwanese delegation visited several farms and agricultural organizations that are pioneering smart-farming methods, including organic tea production and environmentally friendly banana cultivation. At Maejo University, conversations delved into agricultural engineering, technology adaptation, and the development of skilled professionals to support the sector’s growth.
As part of their strategic approach, Taiwan plans to leverage existing agricultural cooperation programs with Thailand to facilitate joint research efforts, talent exchanges, field testing, and business partnerships in the domain of smart agriculture. This initiative aims to further strengthen the agricultural ties between the two nations, paving the way for sustainable and technologically advanced farming practices.
